Churches Together in Chertsey on the Abbeyfields - pictures included

Four of Chertsey’s churches (St Peter’s, St Anne’s, The Beacon and the International Community Church) joined together again for the Black Cherry Fair. There were bacon butties outside St Peter’s as the procession went by, and on Abbeyfields, the ‘Welcome Cafe’ was manned by a team of volunteers serving  teas, coffees, cold drinks and a range of delicious cakes donated by church members. It offered a place to sit in the shade and enjoy good conversation,

while children had a go at ‘Hook a Fish’ or had their faces painted – and with the glorious weather, many were out enjoying the day. A number of prayer requests were received via a prayer box and £550 raised for a young local girl called Lottie who is suffering with Neuroblastoma. Lottie needs to travel to the USA for further treatment not currently available in the UK. It was an amazing day and a great way for Chertsey’s churches to join together to meet the wider community, Lottie and her family, who visited the ‘Welcome Cafe’, were very thankful for the donation.
