New Year’s Roundup from east-to-westReporting five wonderful new projects for the area - read details below: New counselling service to start - with huge thanks to Chertsey Combined Charity, Runnymede Borough Council and the Runnymede 14-19 partnership, a teenage counselling service for the Borough of Runnymede will be launched in January. The service will offer nine hours each week to three of the four secondary schools in the borough to provide this much needed therapeutic service to their most emotionally vulnerable students. New School Relational Support Worker role to start – no information yet to share about this new post but please pray as final details are being put together. In February, we will have the full story for you. New inspirational NEET Group - this month Dan is starting his new 8-week Inspire Course aimed at NEET teenagers (Not in Education, Employment or Training) to help unemployed and disengaged young people in the Egham area find their confidence, purpose and potential. The course will take in eight young people each season and is supported by members of the local churches who will not simply run the programme but also mentor each young person. New weekly prayer meeting – Wednesdays, starting on February 3rd, 8:30–9am at the east-to-west office. This is a space offered for those who have a heart and concern for young people and want to gather to pray for God’s Kingdom to come. The sessions will be run by an east-to-west team member and everybody is welcome to join! New opportunities to volunteer - one of the great and exciting areas of growth last year was to see the number of volunteers engaging in east-to-west projects.
