Women Alive! – A New Initiative

Starting end of January at Christ Church Virginia Water.
“Whatever age or stage of life you are – WOMEN ALIVE is just for you! This new initiative is seeking to make ‘Church’ relevant to everyone’s lives, as we seek to learn how to apply God’s truth practically in our everyday lives in all the decisions we make. We want to engage with the varying needs of the group in an effective way so as to bring about growth both for ourselves and for the wider Church community.  Above all we want the focus to be on the network of relationships that we all have and as a consequence, provide something which will meet the needs of each one of us, wherever we are on our journey of faith. Our purpose is to serve one another, trusting and knowing that God will provide and bless our endeavour.
We hope and pray that this will be a ‘Fresh Expression of Church’ in our changing culture. We plan on meeting on Thursday mornings for coffee and a chat, followed by Bible teaching and discussion etc on alternate Thursdays. Week 2 will have a different format and content, still meeting at CCVW for coffee, chat and a 5 minute ‘Thought for the Day”, before going to Virginia Water Lake for a walk. We hope that this will be a ‘bridge building’ physical activity, which will appeal to all ages, both Christians and others.  For those who are unable to walk or would prefer something different, there will be a craft activity (knitting, sewing, making cards etc) and/or a book group.
A crèche will be provided and the group will run alongside school term times, with a longer break in the summer. At the end of each term we plan on having a ‘Bring and Share’ lunch together!”
