Countertenor in Concert - Picture Review

The February concert at St Jude’s presented an unusual problem: Chapter 5, the vocal quintet booked for the afternoon, phoned only the previous day to say that one of them was ill and that it would be impossible to get a sub for her. At very short notice, the wonderful Ian Bysh stood in and gave a superb programme of Purcell, Handel and Bach as well as Gerald Finzi, all sung with consummate artistry in his fascinating countertenor voice.
Let's hope we can get Ian to come back to St Jude's before too long. The intimacy and delicacy of his singing deserve to be heard again.
