Countertenor in Concert - Picture ReviewThe February concert at St Jude’s presented an unusual problem: Chapter 5, the vocal quintet booked for the afternoon, phoned only the previous day to say that one of them was ill and that it would be impossible to get a sub for her. At very short notice, the wonderful Ian Bysh stood in and gave a superb programme of Purcell, Handel and Bach as well as Gerald Finzi, all sung with consummate artistry in his fascinating countertenor voice.
