The Crown Nominations Commission (CNC) is due to meet in June and July to appoint the new Bishop of Guildford. Six representatives from Guildford serve on the commission and have begun to meet together to prepare for the task ahead and would very much value your prayers over the next few months; in particular asking that you might pray for the following:
- the Diocese of Guildford, giving thanks for all that God is doing and will continue to do amongst us
- the six representatives (Mike Bishop, Robert Cotton, Peter Harwood, Keith Malcouronne, Anne Martin, Debbie Sellin) to get to know each other well and work effectively together; to discern God's voice as they seek His appointment; that they engage fully with the process and have the time to do this well
- those who will be considered for the post - that they too will sense God's leading through the process
“Dear Father - look with your mercy and favour upon your faithful people here in the Diocese of Guildford.
Bless and guide those responsible for the appointment of our new Bishop, someone of deep faith, soaked in the Scriptures and with a love for your people.
