Poppies sow the seeds of WW1 ideas

A simple way for parishes and schools, or indeed anybody interested, to get involved is by supporting the Royal British Legion (RBL) appeal to see the country awash with poppies.
B&Q sell “fundraising poppy seed packs” priced at £2 with £1 going to the RBL. Plant them in your churchyard, local school garden, community garden, allotment, front garden, window boxes on or around Wednesday 30 April (National Planting Day) – meaning they should flower in time for Commemoration Day on Monday 4 August (marking 100 years since the start of the conflict).
You’ll find more on the RBL initiative here.
The diocese has put together a page on their website for the centenary of the First World War and would like your contributions  - it will be a place to gather stories, ideas and resources that you would like to share with others. Upcoming events will also be listed. Please send your contributions to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
