New Diocesan Secretary Announced

The Bishop of Guildford has announced the appointment of Peter Coles to the role of Diocesan Secretary, the senior lay staff member and administrative team leader in the Diocese of Guildford.
Peter, who is 56, will join the Diocese following a long period of service for the BBC where he has undertaken a variety of senior roles, most recently as the organisation’s interim Chief Technology Officer. He is Church Warden for his local Church, near High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire where he currently lives with his wife Jane. They have two grown up daughters and are also proud grandparents.
As Diocesan Secretary, Peter will be responsible for the management of the human, financial and property resources within the Diocese of Guildford. The role has been vacant since the retirement of Stephen Marriott at Easter. Peter, who will be based at Diocesan House, Guildford, is expected to begin in July.
