Bishop’s Prayer Walk

On 23 October, Bishop Christopher and his wife Heather visited Runnymede Deanery and its neighbours on one of his prayer walks. The day started with a sumptuous breakfast at St Mary’s Church and a little crowd following the Bishop along Monk’s Walk to Chertsey where he led prayers at the old Abbey site. The group changed leadership over a coffee at St Peter’s Church and former Curate Revd Steve Brunn (now Vicar of St Mary’s Oatlands) lead them in pouring rain across the Meads to Weybridge, where they were welcomed for a delicious lunch and prayers at St James’ Church. The last leg of the walk along the Wey Navigation to Pyrford saw a much reduced group in bright sunshine enjoying the beautiful autumn scenery.
