Hot Off the Press: Easter Centre Opening in EghamThe 23rd of April 2017 saw the official opening of the amazing new Easter Centre in Egham by Bishop Andrew. Exactly 200 years on from the laying of the foundation stone of their Georgian church building and following years of deliberations and fundraising efforts, St John’s Church and friends were able to celebrate God’s faithfulness in providing the needed support for this ambitious project which will open a whole new scope of outreach work to their local community. A great crowd supported by the organ, band and Egham Band trumpets raised the roof in glorious thanksgiving, before crowding into the Easter Centre which in all its size almost seemed too small! After the obligatory speeches and revealing of the plaque congregation and guests mingled joyously amongst the generous hospitality ... and those present will probably never call “Walkies!” to their dogs again without thinking of the Great Commission Jesus gave his disciples that first Easter evening!
