Butterfly July!St Paul’s Church in Egham Hythe will be full of butterflies this summer as part of a Summer Celebration held at the church from 4th to 7th July. This free entry event will include displays themed around weddings, baptisms and the care of God’s creation. Revd Rosie Hoad explained, “St Paul’s is at the heart of this community, and here for the special moments in people’s lives. We’re excited to be holding an event that celebrates the love for one another, for God and for the world around us that is integral to life and faith.” The event will include an opening ceremony on Thursday, afternoon teas and evening events on Friday and fun for all ages on Saturday - including a puppet display and butterfly parade. There’ll be gifts and local produce to buy, food and a range of activities suitable for different ages. The main icon for the festival will be the butterfly, and local schools and groups will be contributing to a collection of craft butterflies that will fill the church. Full details will be announced on the church website www.speh.org.uk. [by Steve Baynes] |
