CAP Debt Centre Egham UpdateFollowing the donation of £500 from Runnymede Deanery to the CAP Debt Centre in Egham after last Synod’s pertinent agreement to relocate the annual contribution previously made to Strode’s Chaplaincy (no longer extant) for 2016, St Mary’s Church in Thorpe have just hosted a Charity Lunch to benefit CAP. Sue Gray from St John’s Church Egham, who is managing the Debt Centre, was present to explain all about CAP, show an inspirational little video clip specifically about the Egham Debt Centre (with client testimonials!) and answer any questions. Sue pointed out that they continue to rely on prayer and financial contributions from the people and churches in Runnymede, and she’s happy to speak at similar events around the deanery. They also need “Befrienders”, especially in the Chertsey/Addlestone area – people to draw alongside clients for moral and specific payer support and to accompany Sue to their allocated client or take them for a cuppa and chat once in a while.
