A new Youth Centre Building at All Saints' New HawGoodbye to the “Den”December 2008 saw the demolition of the “Den”; an old prefabricated concrete building adjoining the church at New Haw, which was the home of much of the youth activity at All Saints’. After some 40 years, the building was showing signs of considerable wear and tear, and was not economic to repair. Construction work on a new building commenced on 19th January 2009. The new structure will be a sectional timber clad building and will incorporate two phases, which will include a hall to replace the “Den” and an area for use as a drop-in centre.Many thanks to Project Manager John Sharp for all the time and effort he has put into obtaining planning permission and negotiating with builders etc. Update February 2009
The foundations have now been laid and the sectional panels of the new building are due to be delivered in the week commencing 16th February. This should be interesting, as it will involve the panels being lifted over the church by crane to get them into position for assembly.
