Magical Tea Party at Lyne – Picture Review

Last year a small group of people formed a Strategic Group to decide on the Identity, Values and Purpose at Holy Trinity. One of the priorities was phrased as “to ensure commitment to older people remains firm and develops appropriately, including the establishment of a programme of visiting and occasions, such as tea parties and Songs of Praise events”.
As a result, an “Afternoon Tea Party” took place on Saturday 14th January for all seniors “three score years and ten or older”!! The north transept was transformed into a “Tea Room” with the finest bone china tea sets, white tablecloths and all the paraphernalia, and a full spread of varied sandwiches and cakes was laid on.
Welcome and prayer from Wendy were followed by chat and background music while everybody enjoyed the food and tea. Laurence doubled as magician and entertainer, performing tricks and the “The Human Xylophone” playing “Joy to the World” which you can experience for yourself at on YouTube here - you will not be disappointed! Everybody had a great time and the “seniors” enjoyed being spoiled, for what was, for some, the first time in years!!
