East-to-west Prayer Update August

A lot of news this month:
E2W are signing a partnership agreement with a community group called Fledge based in Eastleigh, who would like to establish themselves as a charity that delivers Supported Lodgings. They’ll become an E2W project for 18 months, getting help to establish and then, true to their name, fly from the nest. Please pray that E2W can be a real blessing to them as they seek to bless homeless young people on the south coast.
E2W were blessed by securing a 2-year grant from The Sainsbury Family Trust to roll out Supported Lodgings across the whole of Surrey and to do work as mentioned above. Please pray for Ian, Mattias and Nick as they pull this strategy together and start to introduce SL to new areas and connections in Surrey.
E2W have been approached by a funding stream to possibly set up a community based work in conjunction with a local secondary school (keeping this anonymous at present). Please pray that this becomes a reality as it will be a natural extension to E2W ministry and give them the chance to go deeper into the lives of the young people.
Also prayer for the team, please. It’s been a long year and there are some tired team members who are trying to deny the exhaustion as they hear the hurts of those they care for. Nick Moeke (based in Thamesmead) and Rachel Clough (based in Bishop Wand) are moving on this term: Nick to become a youth pastor and Rachel to train as a teacher. Please pray blessings on them all.
E2W are projecting a small gap in this year’s budget of £8,000. Please pray that it will be closed by 31st August.
