Where do you seek inspiration? Is it in the wild beauty of nature? The haunting melodies of music? The vivid imaginings of story and tale? The inspiration for our first wePRAY of the 2018/19 academic year came from an unexpected phone call!
The phone call (from my mum) was a request for prayer. At east to west, we commit ourselves to pray for our team, their projects and our supporters each and every day. Aware of this she asked us to pray for a family in her church. This family doesn’t know east to west, aren’t aware of what we do, haven’t met our team… all they know is that a group of people are committed to praying for them in a challenging situation.
Over the past 20+ years, as an organisation we’ve been blessed by prayer. Projects, funding and people have been prayed into the organisation. God has heard and answered abundantly. We’ve seen God working in the lives of those we’ve prayed for. In short, our experience is that prayer works! As we start this year we’d like to encourage your continued prayer for us as we seek to fulfil our God-given mission.
• Pray for the children, young people and families we support and for the projects we are based in.
• Pray for new team Alisa and Tracy that they would settle quickly and enjoy working within east to west.
• Pray for our vision for new projects (Emerge – working with those who end up in A&E because they have self-harmed or have attempted suicide, and the Bike Project – working with apprenticeships within a bike shop) and the outworking of these.
• We’d also ask you to pray for Nicki (Secondary Schools Lead) as she prepares to leave east to west at half term after 10 years with the charity.
• And of course, please pray for this family we’re committed to praying for.
We continue to be blessed by your prayers and are incredibly grateful for them. Our commitment to you as you pray for us, is to pray for you as well. If there are specific areas you would like us to pray for, please let us know. You can ring the office on 01784 438007 or email
