10 Years of Christmas Trees!

The annual Egham Hythe Christmas Tree Festival reaches a milestone this December as it celebrates its tenth year. The community-based event at St Paul’s Church first opened its doors on 9th December 2010 when local schools, community groups, societies, charities, businesses and individuals filled the church with some 20 decorated Christmas trees. The Festival has seen the number of participants rise steadily over the last decade with over 60 different groups represented and over 1,000 people attending the Festival last year.
This year, the church will be open daily from 10 am to 4:30pm from Thursday 5th December to Saturday 7th December to come and enjoy the wonderful tree display. The Festival will also include again all the previous years’ favourite special events: local schools singing carols at the Opening Ceremony, a Christingle Service, a performance by The Magna Carta School, fun, music and panto night and a ticketed “Strictly White Christmas” jazz concert. Following the successful community tea party at St Paul’s this summer there will also be a Christmas community tea party with carols on the Friday afternoon, and of course you can still enjoy the trees around the services on Sunday. For details of all the events check out the diary section below.
