“It does not seem possible, and yet here we are. It seems that yesterday we were in June, and now it is October, and I am greeting you for Christmas. What a curious life! However, I do pray that you will have a happy, peaceful and blessed Christmas season, in which we may all come to wonder anew at the loving kindness of Almighty God. “For unto us a Son is given. . .”. Truly, we live by faith in the Son of God (Galatians 2:20).
I sometimes regret that in countries such as the UK it is very easy to go through life without having to face issues of faith. In England it seems so easy to live a happy life without even thinking about matters of faith and belief. God has become an optional extra – and that is not only sad, but also a great misunderstanding and a great loss! I still have on my phone a text message from nearly two years ago, which says: “Nowhere is safe now, except in the Lord. Let us turn to prayers for God to hear us. Help is nowhere.”
But, thank God, as on the whole the past few months have been so much quieter and more relaxed; we just continue to pray that things do not now degenerate again. God HAS been working miracles. So thank you again for all your prayers, love and concern. You are our life-line!”
